Places to visit during your visit or holiday: First, we would like to mention the local summer fiesta, which takes place at the end of July with lots of parties, Easter processions with lots of ceremonies and not to forget the unique Wine Festival (Noche del Vino) in Competa, which takes place every year in August. This festival starts in the morning when wine and food are handed out to everybody, later afternoon in the square, wine is dished out of a huge barrel and the flamenco dancer’s show begins. More activities in the area: horse riding and walking tours in the Mountains (National Park), local pottery courses, relaxing massages and reflexology, playing tennis, weekend market, excellent 18 golf courses, Baviera Golf (25 mins), and Añoreta Golf (35 mins), the Caves in Nerja, the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, Alhambra Palace in Granada, the water adventure in Vélez-Málaga, the Picasso Museum in Malaga.
